The last day of our quilt retreat was busy and busier!  Debbie’s class was a “Stacked Pinwheel” lap quilt.  It was, according to our infamous instructor, a complicated looking project but very easy.  From the look of concentration on everyone’s face, I wasn’t so sure about that statement but, nonetheless, the results were stunning!  As you can see, from the smiles on everyone’s face, they had a marvelous time!

The culminating event of our annual fall quilting retreat is our drawing for a grand prize.  During last year’s 2016 retreat, participants were asked to bring and donate one quilt block for each day of participation.  Those blocks were then pieced together by Debbie Walker (on the right) and quilted by Diana Beverage (on the left) to make a beautiful quilt for some lucky winner.  This year’s lucky recipient was Ann Myers.  Ann’s response to winning?  “Oh my gosh, I …

We opened our second day of the retreat with lots of excitement and anticipation for the day’s classes. I love seeing everyone truly enjoying the class experiences. On our opening day of the 2017 Fall Into Quilting retreat, the day started with a heavy frost and some cold temperatures outside!  However, inside  the Wellness Center, the excitement was palpable.  Between greeting fellow quilters from previous years and introducing folks new to the retreat experience, friends catching up with each others lives, staking out table space, getting machines set up and picking up materials for the days classes, it was very exciting!

Our “Spring into Quilting” retreat kicked off this morning.   This is our first time hosting a quilting event at the old Campbelltown School and the setting couldn’t be more perfect.  While we have had a couple of gloomy and rainy days here in Marlinton, the sun came out this morning, pouring bright light into every corner of the schoolhouse, which provided perfect lighting for the quilters taking classes in “Y seams” with Debbie Walker and “Binding 101” with Joann Cordell.…
