In an effort to preserve the quilting process and the lost art of hand quilting, area quilters are invited to participate in an old fashioned quilting bee on 21 April 2018, from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Watoga State Park recreation building.  This rare event (thanks to a Calvin Price grant) is open to anyone, including young adults, wanting to gain experience in hand quilting.  There is no charge to attend and donations are welcomed.  The large quilt

Today was a busy and action packed day!  The morning started with Diana’s class making an illusion table runner.  Illusion patterns allow quilters to experiment with hues of color and arrangement of blocks to trick the beholder’s eye into believing the illusion.  Playing with color and value, 3-D quilt blocks offer a way for quilters to turn a flat surface into a picture that seems to pop off the page.
